ABOUT
Timbazé began as a conversation between two sisters—and from the understanding that we carried more than one world within us.
We are not Africans, but we are of Africa. The Middle Passage, the colony, the plantation, the revolution, the diaspora—none erased what came before. They transformed it into something entirely its own. The Caribbean is more than a wound. It is an inheritance: layered, resilient, and alive.
Colibri is what we became. Rooted in the Caribbean, it explores the memories, cultures, landscapes, and traditions born of these islands—from their first peoples to the many histories that converged here, creating something uniquely Caribbean.
Cosaan remembers the source. Rooted in West Africa tradition, it honors the geometric language of origin, the patterns that carry ancestry in their repetition, and the visual memory of a world that was taken, yet never fully lost.
These two collections are not separate. They are the same story told from opposite shores.
Each piece in the Timbazé collections is researched, interpreted, and made wearable—offered not as a reconstruction of history, but as its living continuation.
